Formerly the Wheatsheaf Inn (from 1450 according to the blue plaque on the front). Its basement has a circular cockfighting pit; also the landlord in the 1750s was apparently into rearing large pigs, which he exhibited round the country. The pub closed in 1973, since when the building has been a shop, firstly for many years an excellent remainder bookstore called Bookends and more recently a patchworking and quilting shop. Grade II listed - see LinkExternal link.
