The circular plaque notes T.E. Lawrence owned 18 acres of land at the top of Pole Hill. He intended to build a House for himself and his "Friend" Vyvyan Richards, however the plans came to nothing. Richards lived hereabouts in a hut called Cloisters until 1922.
