The Buckenham Ferry drainage pump
This drainage windpump is situated to the north of the River Yare. It was a 4-storey high red brick tower with windows on the 1st, 2nd and 3rd floors. By 1989 the mill was roofless and had a definite lean. A brick shed once stood adjacent to it with a modern pump beside it. In 1993 a temporary corrugated iron sheet was put on the tower in order to keep pigeons out but it was blown away in early 2007. A hut constructed by the RSPB, which stood to the right of the tower, has since been dismantled.
