Spire, International Bomber Command Centre
Spire, International Bomber Command Centre
The UKs tallest war memorial, it is 102ft high, the wingspan of the Avro Lancaster bomber. It is made from Corten weathering steel and commands stunning views across Lincoln to the Cathedral.
International Bomber Command Centre

Under construction in Lincoln is a tourist education site based on the exploits of bomber command in the second world war.

It includes a vast war memorial made, for some unfathomable reason, of rusty steel.
