High Mill, Alston
The stone multi-storey block is part of a complex forming High Mill. The heart of the mill is an extended corn mill of 1767 by the eminent engineer John Smeaton. It contain an internal pitchback water wheel of later date. Unfortunately it currently appears unused and is inaccessible.
