The tower of The Goth dominates the centre of Armadale, a very obvious landmark when travelling east or west along the A89. The Goth was opened in 1901 as a 'Gothenburg public house', a system designed to cut down on excess consumption of alcohol. The 3-stage Baroque entrance tower was added in 1924.
