RNLI 13-18 William F Yates
The new 2.2 million Shannon class lifeboat has arrived at the new station in Llandudno.
The craft was undergoing launch and recovery trials after a four day passage from RNLI headquarters in Poole during which she actually was involved in assisting a rescue.
This unit can turn the vessel on the trailer for relaunch.
SH8082 : The turning of RNLI 13-18 William F Yates during trials
Named 'RNLB William F Yates' in accordance with the wishes of the late Mrs Gladys Yates, whose substantial legacy together with other legacies and gifts has funded the lifeboat's construction. Mrs Yates and her late husband, whose name the boat will carry, lived in Llandudno; their home overlooked the bay.
