Browns Lane is a narrow thoroughfare which links Shuttle Street and Causeyside Street in the centre of paisley. This photo from 2011 NS4863 : Browns Lane shows it to be a dull and dreary place.
Inspired by the Paisley 2021 UK City of Culture bid Linkand funded by Paisley First Link
and local businisses, artists Danny McDermott and Mark Worst set about creating murals to brighten the place up.
There are several murals, most of which depict famous Paisley natives, plus a section dedicated to St Mirren FC's Scottish Cup winning team of 1987 (was it really 30 years ago?).
The addition of a canopy of lights ensures that the lane remains bright even after dark.
Several attractive murals are cropping up around Paisley town centre as part of the 2021 UK City of Culture bid Linkand supported by the Paisley First group Link
