Maturing Lake
Maturing Lake
I first took photos of this lake back in 2007 when the surrounding trees were very young saplings. 10 years later, it's a very different scene with the trees maturing well. The nameless lake now appears on the 50,000 map, but is still absent on the 25,000 edition after I'd reported the omission to Ordnance Survey back in 2015.

I'm not sure what the lake is used for - there's no evidence that it can be used for fishing - there are no fishing stages nor does it look deep enough. Perhaps it's there as a land drainage buffer to prevent flooding. Is there anybody out there who can enlighten me? Also, has this significant pond got a name?
