Rotherhithe station
Under modernisation plans for the East London line, Rotherhithe station was originally slated for closure, because of the difficulties there will be in extending its platforms to take the 8-car trains that will run from 2010. But mayor Ken Livingstone has stepped in to guarantee that the work will be done and the station will re-open with the rest of the line in 2010. As can be seen, the exterior is a very pleasing building.
