On the Saxon Shore Way alongside Higham Saltings
This is fairly soon after the start of the Saxon Shore Way after it has left Gravesend and a little way past Shornmead Fort. There are impressive views across the Thames as it widens out into the estuary. The flood embankment, which also acts as a flood defence for the marshes behind, makes for fine walking. On the right in the distance is Brett Aggregates on Higham Marshes.
