Light Vessel 21 at St Andrew's Quay, Gravesend
Built in 1963, Light Vessel 21 is a 40 metre steel-hulled lightship. LV21 saw most of her service off the Kent coast on the Varne, East Goodwin and Channel stations. More details of its history can be seen at LinkExternal link

The Light Vessel was retired from service in 2008 and is now permanently moored at Gravesend as "a floating cultural facility designed to host, exhibit, perform, screen and inspire the work of artists across diverse disciplines."

Tilbury Power Station can be seen across the River Thames. Tilbury Power Station is on the other side of the Thames. Tilbury Power Station was actually two fossil fuel power stations. Tilbury A Power Station operated from 1956 until 1981 when it was mothballed. Tilbury B Power Station operated from 1967 until October 2013. Nine days after this photograph was taken the two chimneys were demolished on 28th September 2017 - see LinkExternal link
