North Wales WWII defences: Trearddur, Anglesey - pillbox (1)
-
Pillbox (variant): DoB ID: S0007056
Perched on a rock base in a private garden, and now covered with ivy, this circular pillbox was camouflaged to blend in with the rocky landscape - rocks were added to the roof to break up the outline. With six embrasures and a wall screening the entrance, it's one of a group of circular pillboxes around Holyhead and its environs known as "Welsh mini-castles".
