St Mary, Ripple
St Mary, Ripple
The crossing tower and the South transept. The tower has late Norman origins and at one time there was a spire, removed in 1713 by Thomas Wilkinson, who installed the present belfry windows and raised the tower by 15 feet. It was further heightened in 1797, when the balustraded top was added.
