St Mary's church, Walton
Designed by Paley & Austin of Lancaster and built 1869-70, St Mary’s was constructed on an earlier Medieval Church which itself had been rebuilt in 1811 and extended in 1843. While relatively “modern”, it contains a number of interesting features including an alabaster framed mosaic reredos dating from 1899, east windows by William Wailes dated 1869 and a north window by Heaton, Butler & Bayne dating from 1912.
The Church is generally open and donations are welcome.
