Leighton Buzzard Railway - Brigadelok
Leighton Buzzard Railway - Brigadelok
This was built of one of c2500 standard German Army locomotives (Brigadelok). It is an 0-8-0T by Krauss & Co of Marsfeld, Munich. It has radial axles to allow it to negotiate tight bends. It is works No. 7455 of 1918 and is unlikely to have seen much war service. It was later used in France at a sugar refinery until 1964 and a sand quarry until 1968. It is intended to return it to working order alongside other WWI survivors.
