The former shore station HMS Dolphin was the primary Royal Navy Submarine Base from 1904 until 1998. the Royal Navy Submarine School (RNSMS) moved out the following year. However the Submarine Escape Training Tower (SETT) shown in this picture is still in use, see LinkExternal link for more information.
The site is now called SZ6299 : Fort Blockhouse
