Ryde Ferry Terminal Station
Ryde Ferry Terminal Station
In the 1960's the Ryde Pier Head to Shanklin railway escaped the Beeching axe by the skin of its teeth. The line was electrified to London Underground 3rd rail standards. The current stock worked the central line from 1938. The Isle of Wight Steam heritage line uses some much younger steam locomotives!
