Walking past the barracks
Berwick barracks, designed by Hawksmoor, were the first to be built in England (started 1717), perhaps as a reaction to the 'Fifteen uprising. The whole complex, which is now a museum, is Grade-I listed (ref. 1042432): LinkExternal link (Archive LinkExternal link ) .
