SK1451 : Flooded riverside path

Flooded riverside path
Flooded riverside path
The River Dove was very full and was lapping over the riverside path. People were following this path as the one on the other side is quite rough and eroded away in places, thinking they would cross over on the stepping stones ahead. However, as can be seen at LinkExternal link the stepping stones were partly covered by water by the fast-flowing river and so many people went back to the footbridge and followed the path on the other side. Some brave souls did go over the stepping stones. The River Dove here forms the county boundary - this side being in Staffordshire and the far side in Derbyshire.
