SE1416 : Huddersfield Station from Westgate Bridge

Huddersfield Station from Westgate Bridge
Huddersfield Station from Westgate Bridge
I have caught many trains from here over the years. Most memorable was probably a midnight departure on a locomotive hauled train that eventually got to Oban for the school's biology field trip to Vatersay in the Outer Hebrides. The bay platform right foreground usually contained an 08 diesel shunter with the engine running. I'm not sure I ever saw it move. The huge warehouse on the left has a hydraulic wagon lift in the structure at its far corner.
I have a book Huddersfield - A Most Handsome Town. I agree although not everybody is as kind.
