SE1417 : Hydraulic power house, Huddersfield Station

taken 8 years ago, near to Huddersfield, Kirklees, England

Hydraulic power house, Huddersfield Station
Hydraulic power house, Huddersfield Station
This provided power to the machinery in the huge warehouse adjoining the station and presumably any capstans in the yard. One of the items associated with the warehouse was a hydraulic wagon lift that still survivies although I've never got close to it. The station yard is now a car park.
