Harold Wilson statue - Huddersfield
Harold Wilson statue - Huddersfield
In St George's Square with the magnificent railway station behind. Harold Wilson was born in Huddersfield and was a major player in the Labour Party having been Prime Minister from 1974 to 1976 and 1964 to 1970, winning 4 of the 5 general elections he contested (one with a minority government). He is arguably Huddersfield's most famous son and richly deserves to be remembered.
