War Department Boundary Stone #2 - River Ouse riverside path
This War Department boundary stone marks the south west corner of what was once the boundary of the Military Hospital and the Ordnance Depot (RAOC) - now re-developed. The number was identified from the O.S. Old-maps as it is probably buried. Based on what is visible, and other stones, the inscription could be "THIS" (FACE MARKS?) "THE BOUNDARY ABOVE" (WD No.2?). This stone is very close to #1 SE6050 : War Department Boundary Stone #1 - River Ouse riverside path See also #3 SE6050 : War Department Boundary Stone #3 - River Ouse riverside path and #4 SE6050 : War Department Boundary Stone #4 - Corner Fulford Road/Ordnance Lane
