The Glack, Manor Valley
This farm's name means 'a hollow between two hills'. The leftmost cottage is based on a 400-year-old bastle house or secure property, a smaller version of a tower house into which the farmer's family and livestock could retreat in the event of a raid - see NT2137 : Remains of a bastle house, The Glack.
