A nymph [sometimes called a larva] below, an emerged adult on nymphal case, and an adult setting off to find a mate. Pond dipping tanks beyond.
Dragonflies at Hillier Gardens

Metal sculptures on an arch of reedmace/bulrush at the entrance to the pond dipping area in the gardens. They show stages of the dragonfly's life history - nymph, adult emergence, seeking for and finding a mate and mating.
