Midford - the last autumn of the Somerset & Dorset
The 1.21pm from Bath Green Park to Templecombe headed by BR Std 3 2-6-2T 82041 has just left Midford Station, crossed Midford Viaduct, & entered the double track section that extends over the Mendips to Templecombe.

The closure of the Somerset & Dorset Joint line the following March marked the end of an era. However, the trackbed southwards out of Bath has been reopened as a footpath & cycleway across Midford Viaduct & beyond so it is still possible to experience the beauty of the countryside once enjoyed by train travellers & perhaps realise the charm of the legendary S&DJR.
