This cycle and walking route runs for 13km from Low Moor in Bradford to Ravensthorpe near Dewsbury. It passes through or near the towns of Cleckheaton and Heckmondwike.
It uses the route of the former Cleckheaton branch railway, open from 1848 to 1981, latterly only for freight. It re-opened as a Sustrans leisure route in 2000. For most of its length it forms part of National Cycle Network route 66 (Trans-Pennine Trail).
Part of the Sustrans National Cycle Network initiative. When completed, National Cycle Route 66 will run between Kingston Upon Hull and Manchester via York, Leeds, Bradford and Rochdale with an offshoot to Ashton-under-Lyne.
