Bridge House Ambleside
This is probably the most photographed building in the Lake District. It stands over Stock Beck in the middle of Ambleside. Built in the seventeenth century, it was used as an Apple Store. Although very small it has also been used as a weaving shed, a counting house for the mills, a cobbler's, a chair maker's, a tea room and was once home to a family of eight !
