I Forgot To Say
International novelist and Scotland's national poet, Jackie Kay produce a brand new, large-scale commission, specifically for Quays Culture, constructing this interactive LED artwork resembling a large neon sign, situated on the plaza outside the Lowry Outlet Mall . Invited to choose a sentence that sums up this year for her, she selected the words “I FORGOT TO SAY”. Visitors were invited to call a special number to leave their own short messages about what they forgot to say. As they did so, the words “TO SAY” increased in both intensity and colour. Jackie has also committed to producing a new poem in response to the messages left by visitors.
