Concave mirror, Scottish Lighthouse Museum
The photo shows the reflected enlarged image of the lamp, seen above the smaller direct view of the lamp. The concave mirror is used to concentrate the light into a horizontal beam. It is not as efficient as the fresnel lens like NJ9967 : Fresnel lens assemblies, Museum of Scottish Lighthouses used formerly with paraffin lamps, but doesn't have to be because the electric lamp is more powerful.
