NZ1416 : Church on the hill

taken 1 year ago, near to Winston, County Durham, Great Britain

Church on the hill
Church on the hill
Looking across the Tees to St Andrew's Church which stands at the top of a steep bank above the river. To the right is the vicarage, known as Church Hill, which dates from the mid 18thC with 19thC additions. The church is grade one listed, which is surprising as it looks ordinary enough from a distance, but the core is 13thC, although what is visible from here is from the 1848 restoration.
