London City Mission was set up by David Nasmith on 16 May 1835 in the Hoxton area of east London. The first paid missionary was Lindsay Burfoot. Today it is part of the wider City Mission Movement.
The building behind the gate inAlaska Factory was built by Wallis Gilbert. It was built some time before the 1950's. They used to fire watch on top of the building during the second world war. In it's original state Alaska factory was as a lovely set of buildings a mixture of 1930's and victorian architecture.
