Christmas tree, Newcastle Civic Centre
Christmas tree, Newcastle Civic Centre
Newcastle's main Christmas tree stood in the grounds of the Civic Centre beside Barras Bridge. The tree is an annual gift from the city of Bergen in Norway, a twin city of Newcastle. The tradition started after the end of the Second World War as a symbol of thanks and friendship between the two cities.
