ST5974 : Montpelier station - footbridge

Montpelier station - footbridge
Montpelier station - footbridge
This is not a station footbridge in the usual sense because it no longer gives access between platforms. Rather, it is part of a footpath link between Cromwell Road and St Andrew's Road, which happens to go via the station platform.
Montpelier railway station, Bristol

The station was opened on 1 October 1874 as Montpellier by the Great Western and Midland Railways as part of the Clifton Extension Railway. Goods services at Montpelier (as it was known by then) ended in 1965, and all staff were withdrawn in 1967. The line was largely reduced to single track in 1970, with the northern platform abandoned and all trains using the remaining platform. (Extract of the Wikipedia entry).
