The Grwyne Fawr Reservoir, 2
The Grwyne Fawr Reservoir, 2
The reservoir was designed and built in the early 20th century to supply water to the industrial towns of the Welsh valleys such as Abertillery. The height of 526m (1725ft) meant that the water supply could be gravity fed. As a water supply facility it has now been decommissioned but is still an impressive feature at the top of the Grwyne Fawr valley.
