Romiley signal box
Romiley signal box was decommissioned in July 2015. Plans have been put forward by Friends of Romiley Station LinkExternal link for it to become a local heritage/arts & crafts exhibition display centre. For the time being it is boarded up.
Romiley railway station
Opened in 1862 by the Manchester Sheffield & Lincolnshire Railway, access to the two platforms is by steps from Stockport road, as the station is adjacent to the bridge over that road, immediately to the east. Immediately to the west is Romiley Junction.

Romiley is currently served by hourly trains from Manchester to Sheffield as well as all-stations local services to Marple, and to Rose Hill (running from Manchester via Guide Bridge).
