Hill Loch, Stobo Estate
Hill Loch, Stobo Estate
The loch was formed by damming the Weston Burn to provide a water supply to power the saw mill and Stobo Castle. Note the tree planting in the felled plantation opposite - compare with Callum Black's photo NT1537 : Path leading to Hill Loch taken in 2010.
