Liverpool, Canning Dock
A view from the upper level of the Museum of Liverpool, looking across Canning Dock towards the former warehouse which now hosts the Merseyside Maritime Museum and International Slavery Museum. This is a Grade I listed building dating from 1841 (List entry Number: 1280847 LinkExternal link Historic England). Also notable in the photograph are the chimney of the Pumphouse public house, a former Hydraulic Engine house, accumulator tower and chimney, dating from the 1870s (Grade II-listed, LinkExternal link Historic England) and, in the foreground, one of the two graving (dry) docks built in the mid-eighteenth century.

The distinctive profile of the Liverpool Anglican Cathedral LinkExternal link is on the skyline between the Pumphouse and the Maritime Museum.
