'Loch Arkaig' in Loch Scresort
The Small Isles ferry from Mallaig calls at Rhum. Before the new pier was built, it was necessary to transfer to a small boat here.
'Loch Arkaig' was built in 1941 as a wooden-hulled minesweeper (MS 1246). It was rebuilt and recommissioned by MacBraynes in 1960 for the Portree - Raasay service. It sank in Mallaig harbour on 28 March 1979. See LinkExternal link .
