Door, no 7 Chichester Street, Belfast
Door, no 7 Chichester Street, Belfast
Nos 7-11 Chichester Street were built in 1804. Part of a substantial terrace with four storeys and basements they are unusual in Belfast. Without overdoing the praise they are absolute gems. They were the offices of L’Estrange and Brett, solicitors, the senior partner of which was the late Sir Charles Brett - an amateur (but professional) architectural historian who introduced architecture to the general public in NI. The building is now occupied by an optician. See also J4079 : Brett family grave, Holywood and J3374 : Nos 7-9 Chichester Street, Belfast (July 2016).
