The eastern end of the Silverhill Trail
This south-easterly facing photograph shows the eastern end of the Silverhill Trail as it enters (behind the viewpoint) the Forestry Commission’s Silverhill Wood.
Ahead SK4761 : The Silverhill Trail runs through what was once the location of the Teversal Colliery Sidings.
Behind the viewpoint is a SK4762 : Pond in Silverhill Wood, which is one of two ponds in this area that were created when the area was landscaped after the closure of Teversal Colliery.
Shortly the trail turns southward at a junction with the SK4761 : The southern end of the Teversal Trail, then turns again south-westerly to pass the edge of Brierley Forest Park, Tibshelf Ponds and a junction with SK4459 : The Five Pits Trail before ending at SK4258 : Glove’s Lane.
