Great Central Railway - TPO fast approaching
Great Central Railway - TPO fast approaching
The Great Central Railway's Travelling Post Office is about to drop two mail bags in the net in the centre and pick up the two hanging on the left. The trains are run faster than normal line speed to ensure the apparatus works properly and it was all over in the blink of an eye. The locomotive is No. 46521 - an Ivatt class 2MT built in Swindon in 1953. The earlier drop, in the rain, was hustled through by a 9F heavy freight locomotive and that felt to be even faster
