Scott Memorial, Roath Park lake
Scott Memorial, Roath Park lake
This memorial, in the style of a lighthouse, commemorates Sir Robert Falcon Scott, the Polar Explorer, who lost his life in 1912.
The connection with Cardiff is that Scott and his companions sailed from Cardiff in the Terra Nova in 1910.
The weather vane at the top depicts one of Scott's earlier expedition ships, the Discovery.
