At the end of St Philip's Place off Chapel Street is the Grade II* listed Church of St Philip LinkExternal link It was built in 1825 by Robert Smirke and is a reproduction of Smirke's St Mary's TQ2781 : Wyndham Place and St Mary's Church, Wyndham Place, London. In 1962 the nearby church of St Stephen closed, and the parishes merged to form the parish of St Philip with St Stephen.

On the left is the Angel Community Centre offering various services including the Union Canteen.
