Brocton Camp (I-Lines) Ancillary Building - Door threshold
Brocton Camp (I-Lines) Ancillary Building - Door threshold
WW1 raised hut base for standard 'Armstrong' wooden hut 60'x20' (18.3x6.1m) with brick threshold to central doorway at roadway (West) end. The ground is built up approximately 700mm at the East end with stepped threshold to central doorway. This building appears to be a later addition for the New Zealand Rifle Brigade (1917-1919) between the CO HQ Building and the Officers Quarters.
The Officer's Quarters comprised four huts the Mess, a Kitchen to the left and two longer Accommodation huts to rear.

Each 'Line' was designed to house a complete battalion of 1000 men. From 1917 to 1919 the H and I Lines were occupied by the Reserve Battalion of the New Zealand Rifle Brigade.
