River Wear in Sunderland
On the right are two bridges crossing the River Wear. The closer of the two bridges is the Wearmouth Bridge, constructed in 1929. Behind it is the Wearmouth railway bridge, opened in 1879.

River Wear
The River Wear flows generally eastward from its source in the Northern Pennines to its mouth at Sunderland. It is 60 miles long. Major settlements on the river are Durham and Sunderland.
