Cotehele Mill - ground floor
Cotehele Mill - ground floor
This is the meal floor where the meal is collected in sacks from the meal spouts. The room is dominated by the hurst frame and the gears driving the stones - pit wheel, wallower, great spur wheel and stone nuts. The big wing nut is the tentering adjustment and the white piece of string adjusts the shoe and hence the flow rate of the grain into the eye of the runner stone.
