The Grade II listed church LinkExternal link was built in 1860 by Alfred G Fisher and enlarged in 1872 and 1896.

In recent years it has combined with the former St Andrew's Church and is now serves the combined parishes of St Peter with St Andrew. The Upper Room made a TV appearance in the late 1990s when it was redesigned by Changing Rooms' Lawrence Llewellyn Bowen in a swap with the local Baptist Church! LinkExternal link
