This statue of Aodh Rua Ua Domhnaill (“Red Hugh”) was unveiled in September 2007 and is by sculptor Maurice Harron (LinkExternal link Donegal Public Art).

Hugh Roe O'Donnell (1427-1505) LinkExternal link was a leading figure in Gaelic Ireland, ruling as King of Tyrconnell in Ulster from 1461 to 1505. He was then head of the O'Donnell dynasty.
